"Milan was one of my favorite uncles. He always had such a sense of humor and as a child he would tease me. As a child, we don't always like this. So I thought hard and long to have one to "get him". He always said he was so important that he and Queen Elizabeth shared the same birthday. It is important when you share a Queen's birthday he said. Well, it took me some time, but I did it. I told him, you know Milan I'm so important that they don't have school when it is my birthday! As a kid, a no school day is a very important day. He said, you know Diane, you finally got me. Our kidding went on through the years. Milan and I drifted apart for a few years. He busy working and with his new family up in Minnesota, me in Wisconsin, raising my family. I was so thrilled when we re-connected a few years ago. It was so nice to have him visit last Oct. with Jordan and Justine. Thanks so much for bringing him down that day. I am thankful, I got to visit him at his home a couple times too. Milan did such an awesome job with making the Family Tree Book. Many, many long hours on this, and with the help of Justine and Jordan it is a very good piece of work. Anything Milan did, he did very well. He was a very good carpenter, when he was a farmer, he raised Angus cattle and pigs. He did this very well too. Even though he is gone, he will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers. I am so thankful he had such a good life with his wife, Donna, family and extended family, the Kochs'. God Bless you at this difficult time. I will be giving a memorial to the Trempealeau County Humane Society in Milan's name. As he had a great love for animals. Love , Diane"

"Milan was one of my favorite cousins, and lived only a couple of miles from us in rural Whitehall, WI. He and his entire family also did business with us all the while we were in the Farm Supply business for over 40 years in Whitehall. Wonderful family! We are so grateful to have seen Milan last Fall, when he visited his niece and nephews here in Whitehall. He looked so good and happy, and remembered us well, even though we had not seen him for many years after he left Whitehall, even though we did exchange Christmas Greetings and talked on the phone occasionally. That was one of the nicest, kindest and thoughtful things you could have done for Milan; to bring him down so he could visit his family here in Whitehall, as well as to see all the old familiar places he knew and loved when he lived here, for the very last time! We will send a memorial in Milan's memory to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Whitehall, where he and his family attended for many years. Thanks for being such a loving and caring family to him! May God Bless You always! With our heartfelt thoughts and prayers, Shirley and John Mathson Whitehall, WI 54773"
