Robert L. Brown
August 27, 1940 - November 15, 2017

A memorial service for Robert L. Brown, 77, of Rochester will be at 11:00am on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 5:00pm on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Oakwood East Cemetery.
Robert Lawrence Brown was born on August 27, 1940 in Chatfield to Robert and Gertrude (Allen) Brown. He died on November 15, 2017 at the Seasons Hospice Cottage.
Robert graduated in 1958 from Rochester Senior High School and assisted with the planning of many of their class reunions. He served in the United States Army from 1958-1960. On October 19, 1963 he married Joan Lake at Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester. Robert worked for International Transport and later for Midwest Specialized Transport in sales and permits. He retired in 2003. Robert enjoyed playing hockey and played for the Rochester Colts. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, trap shooting, playing pool and spending winters at their home in Mesa, Arizona. Robert was a five year pancreatic cancer survivor.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Brown of Rochester; three children, Susan Brown of Denver, CO, Brian (Shannon) Brown of Rochester and Victoria (Scott) Kaupa of Plainview; four grandchildren, Joshua, Tyler and Brady Kaupa and Olivia Brown; and one sister, Charlotte (David) Ellefson of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his parents.
