Karen R. Pflibsen, age 76, of Rochester, died on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Edenbrook of Rochester. The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rochester. Visitation will be held from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the church on Friday. The inurnment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Preston, Minnesota.
Karen Ruth Pflibsen was born on April 3, 1941 in Fillmore County, MN the daughter of Arden and Ruth (Bjortomt) Sikkink. She graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1959 and earned her nursing degree from Methodist Kahler School of Nursing in 1962. Karen married Francis Pflibsen on December 22, 1962 in Zumbrota, MN. They made their home in Zumbrota. Karen worked as a registered nurse at Charter House in Rochester for over eighteen years. Karen was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time outdoors in her flower gardens and tending to yard work.
She is survived by her husband, Francis Pflibsen of Rochester; daughters, Louise (Kraig) Durst of Rochester and Stacia (Mark) Rosenau of Springfield; grandchildren, Kassandra and Nicholas Durst of Rochester, Ashlyn and Jace Rosenau of Springfield; sister, Sharon (Arnold) Groszbach of Zumbrota; brother, Alan (Arlys) Sikkink of Zumbrota. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials are preferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mayo Hospice or Crown Hill cemetery in Preston.

Our memories of Karen are very special and will miss our get together. I was just thinking today of my trip from getting out of active duty from Fort Leonard Wood to get your wedding .
