Benita Maxine "Bonnie" Means, age 88 of Mingo, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at her home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Mingo United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Greencastle Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Mingo United Church and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com
The daughter of Hugh and Benita (Flaherty) Maher, Bonnie was born on December 2, 1928, in Mingo. She graduated from Mingo High School and attended AIB in Des Moines. She was united in marriage on November 17, 1948, to Richard Dean Means in Colfax. To this union four wonderful children were born; Diane (Dr. William) Suval, Susette (Robert) Williams, Debra (Marshall) Jackson and Rick (Leslie) Means. Bonnie was a member of the Mingo United Methodist Church.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two brothers, Larry (Donna) Maher and Bob (Lila) Maher. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband in 2012; a sister, Joan Maher and two brothers, Richard Maher and Jack Maher.
