Robert Mayhew
February 1, 1938 - November 23, 2017

Robert F. Mayhew, 79, of Rochester, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic, St. Marys Hospital.
Bob was born February 1, 1938 in Rochester to Robert D. and Louise (Simonds) Mayhew. He was a graduate of Rochester High School, attended Rochester Junior College and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in civil engineering. Bob also was a veteran, proudly serving in the U.S. Army. On February 14, 1969, Bob married Constance Immel in Rochester. He worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation for 37 years, went to Yaggy Colby Assoc. before retiring in 2001. Bob enjoyed woodworking, watching old movies and was an avid reader. He was a member of the Kiwanis; RCTC Learning Is Forever (LIFE); Dollars and Sense Inv. Club; Civil War Round Table; Veterans Round Table, The American Legion, Eastwood Bank New Horizons Club and was active in the Senior Citizens Center. Bob was also a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church where he was very active as an usher, committee member and volunteering wherever he was needed.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Connie; daughter, Michelle Kerwin of Rochester; grandson, Brock Kerwin of Rochester and brother, William (Nancy) Mayhew of Rochester. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Michael and his parents, Robert and Louise.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November, 28, 2017 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1212 12th Ave. NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW and one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Dr. Charles Ortloff will be officiating with interment at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Channel One or to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. I remember when we moved into the house next door to Louise own in Meadow Park in 1965 and the first I met the Mayhew crew.. I also remembered the times Robert took me for a ride in his Ford Mustang.
