Florence Lucille Stringer was born November 4, 1932 in Fort Dodge. She attended Riverside School and graduated from Corpus Christi Academy in 1950. On February 14, 1956 Florence was united in marriage to Duane Stringer at Corpus Christi Church. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Florence was a loving homemaker. She also worked at various Fort Dodge businesses throughout her adult life, including: Hormel's, Oberg Trucking, YWCA, Credit Union Center, Sunshine Bakery and Randall's Bakery. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, Monacan Mothers and Corpus Christi Parish. Florence enjoyed spending warm winters in Texas, where she loved beating her daughters in any card game or Yahtzee! Bingo was a favorite. It didn't matter if it was playing for quarters or candy, the object was to win! There wasn't a penny slot in Emmetsburg's casino that she did not know. Living in Texas, Florence missed her Midwest friends and family but she cherished every visit from them. Florence is home now. She is nice and warm, dancing to country western tunes with Dad.
