"I just learned of Chad's passing. We were good friends at Butler University, where we had political science classes together. Every week, Chad, another friend, and I would get together for dinner and watch the latest episode of "The West Wing." He came to see me after I'd moved to Ann Arbor post-college, along with his kids, and we once took a road trip to Chicago to see the dinosaur Sue at The Field Museum. Chad was hilarious, incredibly smart (and a smart ass :-), kind, and generous. I'm sorry to not have the chance to have another drink with him, and I'm sorry he never had the chance to run for Congress (something he used to talk about). My condolences to his close friends and family. "

"Chad was such a tremendous caring, loving man. I got to know Chad through an existing client of his and quickly became a client of his as well but I did so after first making a tremendous friend. It was very apparent early on that Chad was much more a friend than an attorney. Chad cared, he cared about you as a person, he cared intensely about your well-being, he cared about your kids more than anything! We come across wonderful pillars of good so infrequently, and when we do, we cherish their presence. Chad was one of those people I cherished being able to call my friend. When you walked into Chad's office, you walked into a family, a family that was always there for you. It is this sense of family, from those an actual part of his family to those within his office which were just as much his family, to those of us who came to know him as if he were family, that is the greatest thing we will all miss as result of his leaving us far too early. Chad, thank you for all that you meant to me, God's blessings. Chris"

"Chad & I had our ups & downs! He was still my brother & not a day went by that I didn't think about him & miss him dearly. He was the stubborn one of the two of us. Lol! It has taken me several days to think of what I wanted write about. I am just going to say my thoughts & a few memories. There wasn't a day that went by that I didn't think about him & I love & will miss him dearly. He bought me my 1st Cabbage Doll. I remember that Christmas, I wanted one so bad. He made me wait to open that box last. I was almost in tears because I really thought I wasn't getting one. But, I didn't want to show it. Then, he surprised me with the best one ever. Needless to say I was nice to him for AT LEAST a week. Ha! I remember my name being called at graduation & Chad stood up & yelled Praise the Lord! Anyone that knows us knows that was just our relationship. Regardless, I worshipped him. He was the coolest Big Brother. All the girls thought he was hot. I am his sister so I said GROSS! I also remember Vicki & Arthur Campbell letting Chad, Steph, Jason & I go all the way to Louisiana all alone. No Idea how we made it back alive. It was a Blast though. As Monday is coming closer, the days get tougher. It is hard to wrap my head around the fact that I will be saying good-bye! I just know God will be by side as well as my AMAZING boyfriend & niece. R.I.P. Chad! I Love You Beyond The Clouds! Your Sister"

"Chad Wuertz. Say aloud his name when you need a smile to bring some light and warmth into your life. His earthly body, frought with burdens we cannot even fathom, was blessed with an amazing soul that blazed with courage, empathy, selflessness, determination, dedication, the wonderment of discovery and learning, the drive to make the world a better place, and just plain good cheer. Now that great soul is set free to seek Chad's great reward. Rest in Peace? Chad will not ever stand for that! He is already looking for another place to make better. My deepest condolences to Chad's family. - Larrie Wilkins, William R. Neal Professor of Law Emeritus, IU McKinney School of Law"

"My heart is saddened by the loss of this wonderful man and friend. He was a great listener, and I can't picture him without a smile on his face. His positive attitude was infectious, and he will be missed by so many. I keep praying he is running and dancing in heaven. I hope to follow the example he taught me to help others and one day see him again in heaven. I love you Chad??? Krina "

"I remember Chad in high school, I am his sister Stacie's best friend and when we were in school Chad would be made to give us rides home school and we thought we were the coolest girls in our school Chad wasn't too thrilled about it, but that was the kind of guy he was. Him and Stacie are a lot alike hard headed and stubborn, but very strong willed and compassionate people. You will be missed Chad God Bless to ALL his family and friends."

"We went through some good times and so difficult times together, but I was always proud of Chad for persevering in hard times and becoming such an inspiration to so many. Before his accident, my 2 yr old granddaughter jumped into our swimming pool. Without hesitation, Chad jumped in to save her. Even though his legs cramped up and he could hardly keep himself up, he never let her go and made it to the edge. I will love and miss him forever."
