Ella Mae Stewart-Lewis was born on January 7, 1939 in Doddsville, Mississippi to the late John Henry and Flora Stewart .
Ella Mae and Freddie Lee Lewis moved to Indianapolis, where they raised 4 sons; St. Clair Stewart, Chris Stewart, Trymaine Lewis and Terrill Lewis. She was a loving, compassionate person and loved her family and church dearly. Mother Lewis was baptized at Holy Ghost Temple Apostolic Church under the leadership of Bishop John H. Stewart. Ella Mae enjoyed shopping and cooking, and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Amos Stewart, Earl Stewart, Jessie Stewart, Bishop John Stewart, sisters, Lillie Simpson, Dorothy Woods, Bernice Lewis, father and mother-in-law, Harry and Rosetta Lewis.
Mother Ella Mae Lewis leaves to cherish her memories, sons; Terrill (Oreatha) Lewis, Chris (Ella) Stewart, and St. Clair Stewart. Sister, Evelyn Stewart, brother-in-law, Fountain Simpson, Joseph Lewis, Sam (Ruby) Lewis and sister in law, Ethel Stewart, Gertrude Stewart, Viola Fincher, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
