Vera E. Wood
November 5, 1925 - November 24, 2017

Vera E. Wood, 92, of Kingston, NY, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017. She was born November 5, 1925 in Kingston, NY to the late Harry and Myrtle (Kimbark) Wood. Vera was a Kingston High School graduate, Class of 1943, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She later worked as an IRS Agent for many years until retiring in 1977. Vera was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Kingston where she served as treasurer.

Although she had no children of her own, Vera provided for, and gave care and support to many friends and family. Vera will be greatly missed and remembered by her nieces and nephews and their families, and her neighbors and friends. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her siblings, Victor Wood, Kathryn Cook, Eugene Wood, and Gerry Falcinelli Balcom.

Vera was committed to serving her Lord and he used her to touch many lives through her generous spirit. She supported mission work and her local church. Her Christian faith was best displayed by her personal acts of generosity.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401 where family and friends may visit on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 10am to 11am. The funeral service will begin at 11am, Rich Wright, officiating. Burial will follow in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston. A memorial service will be held at a later date for her friends and family in Ohio. While Vera loved flowers and enjoyed receiving bouquets at birthdays or special occasions, in lieu of sending flowers at this time, the family suggests honoring Vera by taking a neighbor to lunch or sending flowers to a loved one or someone in need of cheering.

"We are so sorry to hear of Vera's passing. We spent many happy hours as guests in her house and in ventures in New England with her and her mother and Aunt Grace. We loved their company as well as the meals we enjoyed with them The memories will sustain us all our lives.
