Ruth Elizabeth Gosnell, 74, of Montrose, Iowa died May 26, 2005 at 10:15 a.m. at her home.

Ruth E. Gosnell was born October 20, 1930 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Riley and Ruth Phillips Bryant. On April 30, 1950 she married Kenneth W. Gosnell, in Keokuk at the First Christian of Church. Married for 55 years, he survives her. She was a life long resident of Montrose and Keokuk, Iowa. Ruth was a 30-year employee at Drydens, Sheller Globe and BTR as a data processor. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Keokuk and Friendly Class Sunday School. Served on the Resident Advocacy Committee for Lexington Square and River Hills. She enjoyed ceramics, spending time with her family and preparing meals for them. She and her husband enjoyed eating meals with a group of friends known as the "Away We Go Gang".

She is survived by her husband Kenneth W. Gosnell of Montrose, IA, one daughter, Diana Gosnell of Montrose, IA, one son Kenneth and wife Rhonda Gosnell, Jr. of Montrose, IA, 5 grandchildren Josh and wife Lisa Gosnell of Montrose, IA, Derek Gosnell of Fort Madison, IA, Jenny and husband Jim Briggs of Montrose, IA, Andrea and husband Chris Janssen of Minnesota, Nathan Gosnell of Montrose, IA. , two sisters Martha and her husband Ron Fuller of Quincy, IL, Nancy and her husband Paul Bunnell of Argyle, IA, a sister-in-law Alice Bryant of Montrose, IA, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son Charles "Chuck" Gosnell, 1 brother, Edward Bryant, 1 sister in infancy.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 28, 2005, at the First Christian Church in Keokuk, IA with Rev. William S. Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Scandinavian Cemetery in rural Keokuk.

Memorials in memory of Ruth E. Gosnell may be made to the First Christian Church or to Lee County Hospice.
