William E. Huff
November 5, 1928 - December 4, 2017

William (Bill) Huff passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4th, at the age of 89 after a long and wonderful life. Bill was born in Vandalia, Illinois in 1928 to John W. and Alma Marie (Eakin) Huff. After serving in the US Army in Korea, Bill married to Laurel "Ann" (Cluggish) Huff (deceased, 2011), a union that lasted for 57 years. After graduating from Butler University, he was employed at Hoosier Oil Company for 15 years, 5 years as president. From 1973 to 1989, Bill worked at Rock Island Refining Corporation, retiring as president of that company when it was sold to Marathon Oil. Active in local civics groups as well as state and national associations, Bill served as president of the Independent Refiners Association and the Indiana chapter of the Oil Fuels Institute. He also served on the Board of Directors of Bank One Indiana and the National Petroleum Association, and was a member of the Downtown Rotary Club, the Northside Optimists' Club, and Junto of Indianapolis. He was also a member of Hillcrest Country Club for 40 years and saw all of his children get married at the club. After retirement, Bill and Ann enjoyed their residences in Indianapolis and Sarasota, and travelling around the world.

Bill is survived by his two sons, Greg (Sherry) and James, his daughter Sharon DeBruler (Mark), and his sister Brenda McWilliams. He has seven grandchildren, Daniel, Jarrod, Sarah, Mike, and Lauren Huff and Brian and Christine DeBruler and six great-grandchildren. Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Ann, his brother, John Huff and his sister, Lorraine Wilham.

Visitation will be at Marquette Manor on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 11:00 to 1:00, followed by a private service.
