Roy Cleveland Nash, 89, of Hamilton, Illinois, died at 8:55 AM Monday, February 20, 2006 at River Hills Nursing Home, Keokuk, Iowa.
He was born August 12, 1916, in Ravenscroft, Tennessee, the son of Henry and Edder Mitchell Nash. He married Edith Lou Venna Page on August 31, 1934, at Pleasant Hill, Tennessee. She preceded him in death on January 27, 1988. Also preceding him in death was daughter Charles Ozeha Nash. He married Donna McAllister on April 14, 1990. She survives at home.
Other survivors of Roy and Lou Venna includes three daughters:
Shirley Higbee and her husband Gene of Keokuk, Iowa
Sandra LaBonte and her husband Carroll of Warsaw, Illinois
Sonnia Rowlett and her husband Roy of Hamilton, Illinois
Nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. serving in the Pacific Theater during the World War II, Receiving a Purple Heart and other honors. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Keokuk and the New Testament Christian Church.
Mr. Nash retired from Foote Mineral after 32 years.
Funeral services were Thursday, February 23, 2006 at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial followed at Keokuk National Cemetery with full Military Rites.
Memorial may be made to the New Testament Christian Church or American Cancer Society.
