"Martha and family, Although I do not believe, I have met many, if any, of the family, Steve has been a good friend from the old days. We shared some good times and some great times over the years from the In Crowd days to the Emerald Lady. Thank you for sharing my friend and bringing him many years of happiness as he sure brought many smiles and chuckles to us. I also went in the Navy in the 60??s and never really came back to Keokuk except for a short time in the later 80??s. Did get to spend some time with Steve then and it was just as nothing had changed from the Cellar and the In Crowd days. I am very proud to be a friend of Steve??s and will share your loss??..I think I knew B-Ohs well enough that he still has that same attitude as we all had when we were young and sittin?? Keokuk on it??s ear. You gotta know he??s out there somewhere noddin?? his head and sayin?? ??Turn the page.? God Bless, Jim Harscher "

"Martha, I was so sorry to hear about Steve. I am in Shanghai, China, and will not be there to attend the services. My daughter and her family have moved here for one year and I came with her to lend a hand in the move. I want you to know that I am thinking about you and wish there was something I could do to ease your sorrow. Bonnie Hemingway"

"Dear Mrs. Marsot, Shirley, and Mark: I am so sad to hear of the passing of Steve. I can recall so often spending time with him when he joined Mark, Larry, and me around Park Lane..when he could stand being with us "young ones". He was a great guy and one of my best friends on our block. Please accept my condolances and best wishes for all of you!"
