Onalee Ann Gisel
November 22, 1933 - December 9, 2017

Onalee A. Gisel, 84, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Saturday morning, December 9, 2017, at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island, Illinois.

A memorial service celebrating Onalee's life will be held at 11:30 A.M., Friday, December 15, 2017, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. There is no visitation. A gathering and reception in "The Bistro" at Carson's will immediately follow the service. A private burial will be at the Andrew, Iowa Cemetery.

Onalee Ann Bollinger was born on November 22, 1933 in Clinton County, Iowa, to John and Erma (McCutcheon) Bollinger. She was a graduate of Andrew High School. She married Richard Gisel on December 24, 1951 in Andrew, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2006.

Onalee was a homemaker and also assisted her husband as office manager in his real estate business for many years.

Onalee enjoyed animals including cats, dogs and horses. She loved spending time with her family, liked to travel and was known as an excellent cook. She was extremely close with her sister Lorraine and was an avid sports fan with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, Bears and Bulls being her favorites.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Scott Gisel of Milan, IL, and Valerie Gisel of Schaumburg, IL; a sister, Lorraine Miller of Bellevue, IA; and brothers, Tom (Donna) Bollinger of Maquoketa, IA, and Bill (Dolores) Bollinger of Myrtle Beach, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Jack Bollinger, and sisters Jean Gisel and Margaret Rowe.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, an Onalee Ann Gisel memorial fund has been established.
