Nancy Walters

Nancy Sue Walters, 61, of Wayland, Missouri, died at 5:00 AM, Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at her sister's home in Keokuk.

Nancy was born December 9, 1945, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Gordon and Marjorie Eppers Huston. She married Steven Horner in 1965. He preceded her in death. She married Ron Freetly in 1978 and he preceded her in death. She lived in the Keokuk and Wayland areas all her life. She worked for many years at the Chuck Wagon Café. She also worked at Mac's Meat Market in Kahoka, County Market in Keokuk, and ran "Aunt Nance's" Bar in Wayland.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Keokuk and had taught Sunday school. She enjoyed hunting and fishing, reading books, and playing Solitaire. She loved spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey J. Horner and his fiancée, Tonya Smith, of Keokuk; Monte D. Horner of Keokuk; two stepchildren, Rhonda Davis and her husband, Rick, of Kahoka, Missouri; Mark Freetly of Missouri; nine grandchildren, Brittany and Brooke Horner of Hamilton, Illinois; Tanner Horner of Keokuk; Kolton and Braydon Smith of Keokuk; Cole and Gavin Horner of Keokuk; Alyssa Horner of Keokuk; Bobby Whiteside of Keokuk; four brothers and sisters, Gordon Huston and his wife, Linda, of Keokuk; Karen Skinner of Keokuk; Sharen Cole and her husband, Roger of DeWitt, Iowa; Glenn Huston and his wife, Jacque, of Keokuk
special friends, Tammy Horner and Pat Clifford, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Rick Huston.

Funeral services were Friday, November 2, 2007 at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk with Rev. William S. Mitchell officiating. Burial followed at Kahoka Cemetery in Kahoka, Missouri.
