Glenadene Gatton

Glenadene Joyce Gatton, 74, of Keokuk, died at 3:30 PM Monday, December 17, 2007 at University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Mrs. Gatton was born November 8, 1933 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of James Cecil and Vera Fader Hudson. She married Hubert Gatton on December 30, 1951 in Keokuk, Iowa. He survives.

She was employed by Union Electric as a secretary for thirty-two years. She was a member of the Keokuk Assembly of God Church and a member of Women's Ministry at church. She was a volunteer at Keokuk Area Hospital. She played the piano at the church for many years and for the Little Theater. She was a member of the Keokuk BPW. She enjoyed swimming and was an avid reader.

Besides her husband, she is survived by: One son, Brent Gatton and his wife, Tracy, of Keokuk, Iowa; Three grandsons, Zach, Zen & Zeke Gatton of Keokuk, Iowa; Brother-in-law, Albert Gatton and his wife, Lura Jean, of Keokuk, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two aunts, Gladys Hilt and Marie Vinson; and three uncle, Charlie Fader, Orin Hudson and Otho Hudson.

Funeral services were December 21, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at DeJong's Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Mann & Pastor Larry Conour officiating. Burial followed at Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa.

Memorials may be made to Keokuk Assembly of God or to "Campus Crusade For Christ" a Christian youth outreach at University of Iowa.

I was like a daughter before Brent came along we went to car races Once we went to Church camp in Wisconsin which I will never forget Glen & I had to be in women's cabin.
