Elizabeth R. "Beth" Conn, 50, of Keokuk, Iowa, formerly of Warsaw, Illinois, died at 3:40 AM, Thursday, February 14, 2008, in her home.
Mrs. Conn was born September 14, 1957, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Wilbur E. and H. June Woods Meyer. She lived in Warsaw most of her life until she moved to Keokuk in 1991. She married Steven Long in 1978 and then later married Robert Conn on August 14, 1990. He survives.
She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1975 and attended Augustana College in Rock Island for one year, and then graduated from Quincy College of Quincy, Illinois. She was the manager of Norwest Financial Services which later became Wells Fargo Financial Services. She was a very active member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was Sunday school teacher and a Youth Leader. She was a past president of Keokuk Business and Professional Women. She was a worker for Habitat for Humanity, was a member of Relay for Life, and a board member of Keokuk United Way. She was a member and was a past president of Keokuk Girls Sport Boosters. She enjoyed league bowling, gardening and her dog Jace. The most joy in her life came from visiting with her family, friends, and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Conn of Keokuk, Iowa; two daughters, Shannon Long of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin; Kayla Conn of Keokuk, Iowa; three step- childrenen,Robin Conn of Tampa, Florida; Christy Sabotnik and her husband, Dave, of Indianapolis, Indiana; James Conn of Rochester, Minnesota; two sisters & two brothers, Mary Jane Amudson of Honolulu, Hawaii; Sue Koehler and her husband, Richard, of Warsaw, Illinois; Ed Meyer and his wife, Rosalee, of Warsaw, Illinois; Stephen E. Meyer of Warsaw, Illinois; two grandchildren, Alex and Jillian Sabotnik; brothers-in-law, Mike Conn and his wife, Barb, of Hannibal, Missouri; Mark Dean and his wife, Gina, of Keokuk, Iowa; sister-in-law, Debbie Dean of Keokuk, Iowa; several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents.
Funeral services were Monday, February 18, 2008, at 10:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Emmanuel Dass officiating. Burial followed at Sandusky Cemetery, north of Keokuk, Iowa.
Beth asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either Keokuk Habitat for Humanity or Trinity United Methodist Church.
