In loving memory of

Julie Kathryn Cordry
January 23, 1959 - December 16, 2017

Julie K. Cordry age 58 of Madison passed away early on the morning of Dec. 16th, 2017 at UW-Hospital as the result of an earlier cardiac arrest.

Julie was born on January 23, 1959 in Green Bay, WI, the daughter of James and Gail (Page) Cordry. Julie attended West DePere High School graduating in 1977. She later spent two years attending college at UW-Madison, then completed an associate degree in Data Processing at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. She married Tom Ender on Jan. 23 (her birthday) in 1987. Tom and Julie have a son: Joe.

Julie worked in computer systems at the Dept of Transportation in Madison for 35 years where she excelled in solving technical problems with legacy systems and also designing and implementing new solutions. She liked working with people as well as with software.

Julie loved animals. While growing up Julie spent many years on a farm south of Green Bay with horses, cows, goats, peacocks, ducks, chickens, dogs, and cats. She considered becoming a veterinarian until she discovered while interning with a vet how often she would be expected to euthanize animals.

Julie enjoyed music, and liked making music also. She played the flute and piccolo in her high school band and later. In her more mature years she took up the piano, taking classes at Madison College and learning to play her own Yamaha electric piano at home.

Julie liked both collecting and using tools; both inside and outside. She spent time pruning trees and shrubs in her yard, as well as making repairs in the home as she got the opportunities.

Julie loved to read, both silently and aloud to others. She was very bright, enjoying nights out to play trivia at different spots in Madison. She had a keen sense of humor, and enjoyed puns and word play.

Julie is survived by her mother: Gail Ann Cordry, Inman, SC; brothers: Jeffery (Hae Sung Yang) Cordry, Atlanta, GA and John Cordry, DePere, WI; husband: Thomas Ender, Stoughton, WI; son: Joseph Ender, Madison, WI; step-daughters: Hope Athena, Beverly, MA and Rachel Barnes, Madison, WI; niece: Dana Cordry, DePere, WI and nephew: Max Cordry, DePere, WI; former sister-in-law Lisa Cordry, DePere, WI; close cousins: Terry (Jim) Jeffers and Todd Barrett both of Green Bay, WI; Best Friend Forever Cheryl (Charlie) Coatney, Rutherfordton, NC; Aunt Betty Klug and Uncle Steve Cordry; as well as many other friends and family members.

She was preceded in death by her father: James (Ardele) Cordry Jr., Green Bay, WI; uncle Bob Cordry; and aunt Clarice Cadott, Green Bay, WI; grandparents Clair and Gladys Page, and James Sr & Esther Cordry.

Julie's family offers their heartfelt gratitude for the professionalism and kindness to Julie and consideration toward her loved ones by both the Cardiac ICU and Palliative care units of UW-Hospital.

A celebration of Julie's life is planned for January 27, 2018 to be held at the Good Food Low Carb Cafe in Madison (4674 Cottage Grove Rd, Madison, WI 53716), a venue which Julie particularly enjoyed for its atmosphere, way of eating, and food selections.
