Crystal Darlene Peterson, 54, of Keokuk, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at her home.
Mrs. Peterson was born October 30, 1954, in Spring Lake, North Carolina the daughter of James O. and Shirley Jobe Kelly. She married Ricky R. Peterson on December 23, 1974 in Carthage, Illinois. He preceded her in death in August 28, 1989.
She lived in Florida for the past fifteen years and moved back to Keokuk, Iowa this past August. She attended Western Illinois University. She was a cake decorator in Jacksonville, Florida at Publix Stores. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Keokuk, Iowa. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and other craft projects.
She is survived by her father, James Kelly of Norwalk, Iowa; two daughters, Stephanie Ewing and her husband Tim of Oak Harbor, Washington and Rikkie Peterson of Keokuk; three brothers, James Kelly and his wife Daren of Paul Valley, Oklahoma, Eric Kelly and his wife Jennifer of Dixon, Missouri and Eugene Hall and his wife Dena of Arlington, Washington; one sister, Anne Rose and her husband Wes of Keokuk; two grandsons, Brian Ewing and Brandon Ewing; seven step brothers and sisters; maternal grandparents Raymond & Marjorie Jobe of Keokuk; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband in 1989; and one brother.
Graveside services were Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Frazee Cemetery in rural Wayland, Missouri, with Pastor Jim Richardson officiating.
Memorials may be made to Keokuk Humane Society.
