Linda "Peach" Lowrey

Linda Lou "Peach" Lowrey, 67, of Fort Madison, Iowa, formerly of Keokuk, died at 6:45 PM Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Fort Madison Health Center, Fort Madison, Iowa.

She was born on November 4, 1942 the daughter of John and Virgie Trent Oehmigen. She married Clifton Lowrey in June 12, 1963. He was her love and companion. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2006.

She lived most of her life in Keokuk and Ft. Madison area. She was a homemaker and was involved in running Lowrey's floral shop and greenhouse for many years. She also worked at McDonalds, Hardees and K-Mart. She was a member of the Apostolic Faith United Pentecostal Church in Keokuk, Iowa. In her younger years she did water ballet and modeling. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She enjoyed challenging them and playing games with them. She loved their jokes, games and piano playing. She and Cliff were well known for enjoying the company of others and drinking tea at Country Kitchen. They also enjoyed yard sales together. Her last weeks were filled with love, laughter, and prayers. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her mother, Virgie Oehmigen of Keokuk; two daughters, Angela Hoenig and her husband, Richard, and Julia Hoenig and her husband, Larry, of Ft. Madison, Iowa; four grandchildren, Tyler, Tabitha, Kara and Kindra Hoenig, all of Ft. Madison; two sisters, Hedy Sturgeon and her husband, Leonard, of Keokuk and Joan Ellison of Bayard, Iowa; one brother, Ron Oehmigen and his wife, Cindy, of Jamesville, New York; and nieces and nephews, Ronda Peters of Keokuk, Dona Tuel of Bayard, Iowa, Randy Ellison of Donnellson, Iowa and Donnie Ellison of Donnellson, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her biological father, John Habben; stepfather, John Oehmigen, who raised her; her husband, Clifton Lowrey; and one aunt, Billie.

Memorial service were Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Apostolic Faith United Pentecostal Church in Keokuk with Rev. Alex Kloster officiating. Inurnment followed at Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, Illinois.

Memorials have been established.
