James "Jim" Hanan

James Everett "Jim" Hanan, 71, of Keokuk, died Wednesday morning, February 24, 2010, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

He was born on September 11, 1938 in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Everett F. and Alberta Lambert Hanan. He married Glenda Amon on December 3, 1960 in Keokuk, Iowa. She still survives.

He graduated from Keokuk High School in 1956. He lived most of his life in Keokuk. He was self employed and a mechanic/trucker running Hanan Trucking. He was a member of Freedom in Christ Church.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Hanan of Keokuk, Iowa; three children: Darrell Hanan and his wife Shaunette of Bettendorf, Iowa; Janice Cobb and her husband John of Ft. Worth, Texas; Curtis Hanan and his wife Valerie of Ft. Worth, Texas; four grandsons: Benjamin, Jacob, Josiah and Jesse Hanan all of Bettendorf, Iowa; two sisters: Karen Matice of Pella, Iowa; Vicki Roller of Pella, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service were Saturday, February 27, 2010, at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk with Pastor Doug Horner officiating. Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa.

Memorials may be made to Freedom in Christ Church or Blessing Hospital Hospitality House in Quincy, Illinois.
