Arletta "Kay" Susan Dalton, 94, of Keokuk, died at 4:20 p.m., Thursday, June 10, 2010 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, Iowa.
She was born on December 22, 1915, in Yetter, Iowa, the daughter of Henry G. and Rosa Hunziker Kreft. She married Bernard Vincent Dalton on July 17, 1939 in German Lutheran Church in Coon Valley Township, Iowa. Her first husband was in the Air Force where they lived in forty-one locations where he was assigned. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1978. She later married Bernard Bowen on May 9, 1986. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1991.
She graduated from Lytton High School. She attended Cosmetology school in Omaha, Nebraska. She was self employed as a hair dresser. She moved from Lake View, Iowa to Keokuk, Iowa in 1992. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Keokuk, Iowa. She enjoyed craft work. She had volunteered and helped with development shelters.
She is survived by Daughter, Rose Peters and her husband Gordon of Keokuk, Iowa; two sons, Robert Dalton and his wife Carolyn of Chatham, Illinois; Gary Dalton and his wife Vickey of Oak Tree, Texas; six grand children; nine great; grandchildren; three sister-in-laws; one brother-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, one sister and one brother.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 13, 2010 at DeJong's Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Underwood officiating.
