William Daniel "Bill" Azinger, 66, of Montrose, Iowa, died at 9:40 AM Friday, February 4, 2011, at his home.
Bill Azinger was born September 12, 1944, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Herman and Loretta Moran Azinger. He married Sheila Fitzpatrick on February 20, 1965, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She survives. He was a lifelong resident of the Montrose area and had been employed at Armour-Dial for over 33 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Montrose.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sheila of Montrose; five children, Will Azinger and his wife, Ellen, of Logan, Iowa, Brian Azinger and his wife, Liz, of Ripon, Wisconsin, Doug Azinger and his wife, Amy, of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Steve Azinger of Bondurant, Iowa and Beth Azinger of Spencer, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Bryce, Brennan, Kaitlynn, Emma, Therese, Lucy and Tyler; two step grandchildren, Bradley and Alex; three brothers, Tom Azinger and his wife, Barb, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Richard Azinger and his wife, MaryAnn, of DeWitt, Iowa, and Roy Azinger and his wife, Liz, of Mesa, Arizona; one sister, Donna Tabbaa of Montrose, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Herman "Bud" Azinger; and a sister-in-law, Pat Azinger.
Memorial mass was Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Montrose with Rev. Mark A Spring officiating. Burial followed at Montrose Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lee County Hospice.
