Aura "Jean" Peterson

Aura Jean Peterson, known as Jean to family and friends, died December 21, 2017 at age 90 at
Charter House in Rochester, MN. Jean was born in Ely, MN on July 24, 1927 to John and Anna (Aura) Palmgard. She was a registered nurse, working at the Evanston Hospital in Illinois when she met and later married Lowell Peterson. Jean and Lowell moved to Rochester when Lowell joined the Mayo Clinic and they made Rochester their home. Jean will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, world traveler, and avid knitter. She is survived by four daughters, Heather (Thomas) Haugrud of Stillwater, Minnesota; Carol Rodgers of Western Springs, Illinois; Susan (Michael) Suby of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and Jane Peterson of Alexandria, Virginia. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Lowell, her parents, and her two sisters. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 512 3rd Street SW, Rochester, MN, with a luncheon at the Church following the service. Memorials if desired can be made to First Presbyterian Church, where Jean and Lowell were lifetime members, or a charity of the donor's choice.
