Sally Jo (Lyle) Zellers, 65, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 in Topeka. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 am in the United Methodist Church in Tipton followed by a time of food and fellowship in the church. She was born on May 29, 1952 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of James and Erma Turnipseed Lyle. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1970 and graduated from Eastern Iowa Community College. She married Donald C. Zellers on July 3, 1999 in Topeka. Sally dedicated her life to helping others both locally and nationally by educating communities on how to mobilize to fight crime and drug abuse through organizations like Safe Streets and NET Reach. She was an avid runner and a member of the Fellowship Bible Church.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; sons, Lyle and Aaron Graversen; step-son, Cory Zellers; and step-daughter, Kylie Zellers and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Erma Lyle of Tipton; sister, Sue (Don) Peck of Michigan; five nieces and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; and sister, Sherry Mahoney.
