Bob Aaby, 89, of Rochester, MN died December 31, 2017 at Rochester Health West.
Robert Bruce Aaby was born September 7, 1928 to Bert and Hazel (Wiltsey) Aaby in Salem Corners, MN.
He graduated for Byron High School in 1946. He married Betty Weaver August 30, 1950 at the First Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army from January 1951 to January 1953. He was employed by Chicago NW Railroad until he began working as a letter carrier. He worked for the U.S. Post Office from 1958 to 1991.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and stamp collecting. He also served as a cub master and church usher. He was a member of Homestead United Methodist Church.
He is survived by one son, Thomas Aaby of Rochester and one daughter, Theresa Aaby of Hinckley; one grandson, Michael (Jennifer) Aaby of Zumbrota; four great grandchildren, Anthony, Alexis, Alyssa and Ashely; several nieces and nephews; and brother and sister-in-laws. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Betty.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
