DeLou Bricco
November 10, 1927 - January 2, 2018

DeLou Bricco, longtime Polar resident, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Evergreen Terrace in Antigo. He was 90 years old. He was born on November 10, 1927, in the town of Wolf River, a son of Robert and Marie (Roberts) Bricco.

Del served in the United States Army from 1948 - 1951, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was stationed in Berlin Germany during the Berlin airlift.

Following military service he moved to Zion, Illinois where he married Lorraine Nelson. The couple later divorced.

In April of 1968 he married Gwendolyn Staude. She preceded him in death on September 8, 2016.

For ten years he owned and operated Del's Standard service station in Kenosha. During that time he was active in racing stock cars. Later, he was employed as a supervisor for Laddish Tri-Clover in Kenosha retiring in 1989.

Del and Gwen built their retirement home in Polar in 1990. Del drove school bus for seven years and worked for Gress Tree Farms.

Del was very proud of earning his pilots license at age 50 and flying his Cessna. He valued all nine days at the family deer camp in Argonne and enjoyed caring for his lawn and all 200 of the blue spruce planted on his land.

Survivors include three daughters, Paula (Neal) Brimhall, Moreno Valley, California, Anita (Kenneth) Blumenschein, Pleasant Prairie, Joanne (Jeffrey) Barnes, Pleasant Prairie; a son, David (Irene) Bricco, Eagle River; nine grandchildren, Jessica and Jonathan Brimhall, Moreno Valley, California, Adam (Ashlee) Bricco, Eagle River, Allyn Bricco and Amber Davis, Rhinelander, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Jacka, Madison, Jennifer Hallgren, Pleasant Prairie, Robert (Amber) Barnes, Milton, Steve Barnes and Crystal Graham of Hamilton, Mississippi, Melissa Barnes and Mike Warren, Marinette; great grandchildren, Addison and Calvin Barnes, Milton; two sisters Linda Briggs, Seffner, Florida, Carol Moldenauer, Pleasant Prairie; a brother Albert Bricco, Greenville, North Carolina.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy, Agnes and Teresa; and a brother, Howard.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 12 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Kindle, officiating. Burial will take place in the spring with military honors at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Polar.

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
