Marian Zevenbergen, age 84, of Sibley, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley.
Marian will be cremated and burial will be at a later date. There will be no visitation or memorial service.
Marian Zevenbergen was born on October 9, 1933 in Doon, Iowa. She was the daughter of Samuel and Margaret (Uithoven) Heemskerk. When Marian was in the second grade, she moved with her family to Boyden, Iowa, where she attended school.
She was united in marriage to Art Zevenbergen of Ocheyedan, Iowa on June 5, 1956 in Boyden. They lived and farmed in Ocheyedan and later retired and moved to Sibley, Iowa. Marian and Art enjoyed camping with their camper and vacationing. Art passed away in 1985.
Marian worked in the Sibley-Ocheyedan High School kitchen until retiring. She enjoyed bowling and was on many bowling leagues. In 2012, she moved to Fieldcrest in Sheldon.
Marian was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sibley.
She passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley.
Those left to cherish her memories are two sons, Alan Zevenbergen of Sibley, IA and Steve Zevenbergen of Sheldon, IA; 2 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; one brother, Marvin (Luetta) Heemskerk of Boyden, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Art; her parents; one brother, Bud (Flossie) Heemskerk; one sister, JoAnn Vander Meulen.
