In loving memory of

Lenora Buske
September 27, 1921 - January 4, 2018

LeNora Rose (Geise) Buske, 96, of Rochester, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, January 4, 2018.

LeNora was born September 27, 1921, in West Concord, Minnesota, to Edward and Mildred (Campbell) Geise. She married Ralph Buske on April 28, 1942. LeNora was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her two daughters; Sharon (Jim) Glynn and Marcia Buske; two grandchildren, Jackie Glynn and Brad Glynn; and three great grandchildren, Jordan (Diana Orbelo) Glynn, Miranda Glynn and Brady Glynn. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. LeNora is preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, and sister, Charlotte (Geise) Bruce.

Ralph and LeNora were high school sweethearts who were married for over 73 years before Ralph passed away in 2015. During their life together they were surrounded by many wonderful friends, neighbors and family. LeNora enjoyed baking, playing cards, going out for lunch, taking weekend bus trips around the region, and spending time with family and friends. Her cookie jar was always full, and her trays of Christmas cookies were shared, and enjoyed, by many over the years.

A graduate of Rochester High School, LeNora and her husband traveled across the US while he served in WWII. After the war, they returned to Rochester, built their home and raised their family. In addition to managing her home, LeNora really enjoyed the work she did for many years, well into her 80s, as a member of the Mayo Foundation House staff.

She was a lifelong, active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, providing service to others and participating in many women's and couple's organizations over the years, including helping brides plan their special day.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Thomas Poterucha for providing extraordinary care and compassion, and to the wonderful staff at Rochester East Health Services for assisting the family in caring for LeNora the past few years.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018, at 1:00pm, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester, with Reverend Joel Haak officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm - 1:00pm, before the service. There will be a family burial on Tuesday at Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church, Paws and Claws, or charity of choice.

"She is gone...There are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout...Here she comes!"
