Chuck Johnson
August 13, 1957 - January 2, 2018

Chuck Johnson, 60, of rural Lenox, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston.

Celebration of Life Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Powers Funeral Home 601 New York Avenue in Creston. Pastor Jim Morris will officiate.

Burial will be at Maple Grove "Guss" Cemetery, south of Corning.

Open visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 7, with family receiving friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Charles Alan Johnson, son of Bettie Louise (Jones) Smith and Ralph E. Smith, was born August 14, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri. When Chuck's mother later married Skippy Lee Johnson, he was adopted by Skippy and his last name was changed to Johnson. Chuck graduated from Creston High School in 1975.
On February 20, 1976, Chuck married Karen S. Murren in Creston. Chuck worked with the G.E.T. plastic plant in Creston. Later he worked with Warin Oil, and then with the Trolli candy company, both in Creston. They moved near Kent in 1997. Chuck began working at S & K Caf in 2000.

Survivors include his wife Karen Johnson of Lenox; a son Jeremiah Johnson of Creston and a daughter, Jenifer Johnson of Lenox; two grandchildren; Hallie & Lilee Johnson; 6 sisters, Patty (husband Steve) Richardson of Kansas City, Mo., Peggy (husband Steve) George of Vidalia, Ga., Kimi (husband Todd) Laabs of Kansas City, Mo., Cherie (husband Chris) Gordon of Silver Lake Kan., Kalian (husband Dwayne) Smith of Creston and Sandy (husband Roy) Parrott of Shannon City; 4 brothers, Mike Smith of Kansas City, Mo., Owen (wife Lori) Worstell of Holt, Mo., Phillip (wife K'Lea) Johnson of Afton and Sonny Johnson of Reed Springs, Mo.; two brothers-in-law, Mike (wife Jerri) Murren of Lamoni and Duane Murren of Creston; and his best Friend, Roy (wife Nadine) Schrodt of Akron, N.Y.; and many other nieces, nephews and other family.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and his parents-in-law, John Murren and Shirley Kleckner.
