"I have many memories of Nancy throughout the years. We were classmates at St. John's Catholic School in Waunakee. She was a quiet, but kind, and we sometimes hung out on the playground together during recess. I particularly remember being invited for a sleepover in the 6th grade and being treated like a princess at her home. Nancy had this innate ability to draw pictures with incredible detail and, what I consider, introspective and spiritual expressiveness. When she signed my high school annual our senior year, she drew of full page picture and wrote, "Gail, instead of words..." I lost track of Nancy until I became the choir director at St. Olaf Church in DeForest in 1985, and discovered that's where she went to church, so, of course, I enlisted her service to create the cover of the Holy Week and Easter Liturgy and Music worship aid. What a beautiful spirit she was, and I am so blessed that our paths have crossed throughout the years. My deepest sympathy to her children and grandchildren, and her siblings. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. I am happy that she is now living in blissful peace with her beloved husband, Walter, her brother, Stephen, and her mom and dad.
