Clarence E Dow
March 14, 1925 - January 3, 2018

Clarence Edward Dow, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away January 3, 2018. He was born March 14, 1925 in Somerset County, N.J. to the late Clarence and Lillie M. Dow of Readington, NJ. He was an only child.

Clarence graduated from Flemington, NJ High School. He served honorably in the US Army, World War II and also the US Navy in the Korean War. Soon after the Korean War he married Eleanor P. Dow of Manville, NJ.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Eleanor; son Ronald E. Dow and wife Michele of Indianapolis, and daughter, Patricia A. Becker of Tennessee, one granddaughter and two great granddaughters.

Ed was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, and served for years as an usher along with several other volunteer positions. Prior to moving to Indianapolis, he was a member of the Readington Reformed Church in New Jersey. He was a member of the American Legion Post 284, Whitehouse, NJ since the wars.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN. Calling will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Luncheon following the service.

A private burial will take place at a later date at Readington Reformed Church Cemetery in Readington, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church or Alzheimer's Association.
