ROGER KAMMERER
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Roger D. Kammerer, 63, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after battling cancer for several years.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of, Tina Kammerer.

Roger was born on April 15, 1954 in Muscatine, the son of Harold and Virgilene Bailey Kammerer. He married Tina A. McCleary on December 23, 1993 in Muscatine.

He was a truck driver, a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Wapello, and and member of the Moose Lodge. Roger was a veteran of the US Air Force serving in the Vietnam War. He was a loving husband and helped with the family owned Kammerer Trailer Court. Roger enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, spending time with family, and helping others.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Tina, of Muscatine; two children, Angela Starkweather, of Wapello, and Joseph Starkweather Jr. and wife, Bethany, of Letts; five grandchildren, Autumn Starkweather, Jacob and Ethan Miller, Maxwell Volkl, and Barrett Starkweather; two sisters, Sheryl Snyder and husband, Darold, of Houston, Texas, and Sandra Kuhlenbeck of Muscatine; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and three nephews.
