"I worked with John for a long time in Cedar Rapids Iowa. My best description of John is that John was ALWAYS a gentlemen. Good friend and co-worker, he went to Rochester back in the early to mid 90's. Several times he came back down here just to visit, he always came in the winter. He was a great co-worker always honest, to hear him say some thing negatively about a person was very, very seldom. I have keep in contact with John by phone all these years, to say I have seen John in person in the last few years is not true. I was always going to up spent some time with him. John was a great friend, now he is home with the LORD. John THANK YOU for your friendship. "

"To my dear cousins Judy and Linda, and to all of John's loved ones, I offer condolences on behalf of his cousins Margy, Bill, Becky, and Eric. Being younger, we never got to know John (our "Jackie") as well as we would have liked. And the Grupp family has spread far and wide, so gatherings haven't happened as often as we wished. But we will always harbor fond memories of John as we last knew him, as shown in the attached family reunion photo. A quiet, friendly man who will be missed! With affection, Eric (Rick) Grupp"
