Michael Dow Mason
August 1, 1945 - January 5, 2018

North English- Michael Dow Mason was born August 1, 1945 in North English, Iowa, the son of Keith Dow and Doris D. (Reasoner) Mason. Mike's family moved to Arizona when he was a little boy, where he stayed until he was a teenager. He came back to Iowa one summer to visit his grandparents, Dow and Nellie Mason, and decided to stay. He graduated from English Valleys High School in 1963. On December 30, 1981 Mike was united in marriage to Rosetta Marie Boyle in Las Vegas Nevada at the "Little Church of The West". He worked for Borden Chemical, Inc., Garst Seed Co., and several trucking companies before owning and operating M.R.D.A.M. Transport LLC out of North English. Mike was a former charter member of the North English Jaycees. He enjoyed driving his semi and traveling all over the United States. Mike died on Friday, January 5, 2018 in the comfort of his home near North English after battling cancer for 3 years, he was 72 years old.
He is survived by his wife Rosetta of North English and their two children: Dustin Mason (fiancé Bailey McConnell) of Iowa and Dr. Amanda (Nitin) Mason-Singh of Virginia; two children from his former marriage to Susan (Beorkrem) Sirls: Tracy (Scott) Mason-Swalbach of New York and Matthew (Sonia) Mason of Arizona; four grandchildren Nicholas & Jessica Swalbach, Courtney Mason, and Silas Singh; three sisters Sky Young (Doug Haskins) of Arizona, Jil Babbitt (Dean Howard) of Arizona, and Gloria (Byron) Johnson of Illinois; two brothers Robert (Suzanne) Moffit and Lynn (Sherry) Moffit all of North English; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents & parents (including his step-Mother, Ruth Mason).
