"Lori, Anna and Family: My family sends our deepest sympathies. I could not believe my ears as I first learned of the news from Maddie. I know she was very close to your family and had fond memories with David. I didn't personally know David very close, but I will never forget one of the very first times he spoke words to me after seeing my first new Ford pickup. He said, "It's about time you got a man's truck!" From that moment, I knew he was one of the good guys. If there is anything that your family needs, PLEASE do not hesitate to reach out. I wish everyone well during this very difficult time. God Bless, with love....The Rabe Family, Ben, Tara, Meghan, Madeline, Kylie & Sidney."

"I just can not wrap my mind and heart around his loss. He was such a good man and I'm sure his absence will make a gaping hole in your family, Lori. My prayers go out to you and your children. I will always remember Dave as a kind, down to earth person, with a strong sense of right and wrong. He was fun to be around and always willing to lend a hand when asked. Though he is gone far too soon, he was a good man and is surely safely perched in heaven. I imagine him looking down on us now and hoping we all take care to value the important things in our lives today; for tomorrow may not come. "

Patrick Bartholomew wrote on Jan 9, 2018:

"There are only a handful of people I consider close friends. Dave was one of those people. I am grateful to have been his friend and that I could be with him in his last moments. Lori, Matt, Anna, and Chris, my heart goes out to you and know that Dave's legacy will live on through his friends and family. He touched so many people in his own, awkward little way. And this spirit will live on. Words cannot explain the loss. I am truly devastated as I know you are, Just know that time heals and Dave's legacy will live on. I will miss him so much! Pat Bartholomew"
