Joseph L. Wallace
January 5, 1924 - January 6, 2018

Joseph L. Wallace, age 94, died peacefully on Saturday, January 6, 2018 in Abington Hospital Jefferson Health in Abington.

Born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, Joseph was the son of the late Ernest and Gertrude (nee Reynolds) Wallace.

Mr. Wallace was a Trade Carpenter, employed with the New York City Transit Authority until his retirement in 1987. Joseph was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Maple Glen.

Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Mercedes (nee Gibson) Wallace in 2014. He is the loving father of Veronica G. Aird of Bedford, TX; Kirkpatrick "Pat" L. Wallace and his wife Karen of Dresher, PA; Bortel A. Clayton of Mitchellville, MD; Basil A. Wallace and his wife Tawana of Los Angeles, CA; and Mendoza O. Wallace of Brooklyn, NY. He is the proud grandfather of thirteen, great-grandfather of seventeen, and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM. Pete Nevitt and Dennis Whitaker will officiate. Interment will be in Chelten Hills Cemetery in Philadelphia.
