WELLMAN - Raymond Leeman Curl was born August 13, 1922, in Wellman, Iowa, the son of Clifford and Effie (Patterson) Curl. He graduated from Wellman High School in 1939. He served in the United States Navy from 1942-1946 during WWII. On July 25, 1945, Raymond was united in marriage to Pearle Cummings in Davenport, Iowa. Raymond worked in manufacturing, and owned several businesses in the Wellman community. He enjoyed working on John Deere tractors and electronics. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Raymond passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 95 years.
Raymond is survived by a son Patrick (Elizabeth) Curl of Wellman; a daughter Tamra (Carl) Young of Kingsland, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and special friend Helen Ruth Yoder of Wellman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son Michael.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. The Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wellman is caring for Raymond and his family.
