In loving memory of

Surita Silwal
August 10, 1968 - January 10, 2018

Surita Silwal, 49 years old, passed away peacefully, January 10, 2018, at her home with stomach cancer diagnosed in 2017. Surita's battle began just after 18 months of surviving the horrible car crash with her family in CA, just as she was springing back to full health. Around March-April 2017, she got diagnosed with advanced staged stomach cancer which got detected during her routine visit to the Doctor for uncomfortableness in stomach.

Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God and the love and prayers of family, friends and supporters carried her through months of grueling chemo therapy. She remained brave, iron-willed even throughout her final days.

Surita was born on August 10, 1968 in Kathmandu, Nepal to father Deepak Dhungana and mother Binu Dhungana. She grew up in large, loving family with one big brother and five close cousins. She was married for 22 years with love of her life, Anil Silwal, from Nepal. They relocated to United States in the year 2008.

Surita possessed a contagious laughter and an entertaining sense of humor. Her gift of joy shown through her constant laughter and joking around will never be forgotten. She is survived by her loving husband Anil and her son,
Ashray.

Surita will be cremated according to Hindu tradition and her thirteenth day last rituals will be done in Nepal. The family would like to thank all of the great support from the community, the staff of Cancer Care Alliance Seattle, UW medicine, Swedish Hospital Seattle, her at home care takers for their excellent and loving care throughout!

"Phulko aankhama phulai sansara...epitomizes Surita didi. Her laughter, sense of humor, openness and just her refreshing unpretentious nature will stay in our hearts forever. She ploughed on in the aftermath of the accident 2 years ago and showed so much grace, dignity and courage when coping with the cancer. Although the void you leave in our hearts remains, the good memories we have had will be with us forever. "
