Charles R. Hunt
July 14, 1936 - January 5, 2018

Charles R. Hunt of Burnt Store Marina, FL and Concord, MA, passed away January 5, 2018 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, FL. The son of Mabel (Godfrey) and Waldo M. Hunt of Needham was born in Boston, MA on July 14, 1936. Charlie grew up in Needham, MA and graduated from Needham High School. After receiving a B.S. from Boston University and a Master of Education from Framingham State University, he spent 35 years with the Lexington Public School System, Lexington MA, in various capacities including Director of Physical Education and coach of the varsity hockey and baseball teams. He also served in the Army reserves early in his career. Charlie, an avid golfer, boater and life-long Patriots and Red Sox fan, loved traveling and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara (Brearley), son Paul of Washington DC, daughter Jill Goodwin and partner Brian Ridlon of Rochdale, MA, grandson Trevor Goodwin.

A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 211 W. Charlotte Ave., Punta Gorda, FL on Friday January 26, 2018 at 11:00AM, with a memorial service in Concord, MA to be held in the spring.
