In loving memory of

Callie Hyde
October 9, 1918 - January 10, 2018

Callie Hyde, age 99, went to her eternal rewards on January 10, 2018 after several years of declining health. She was the eldest daughter of eleven children of Steve and Edith Campbell of Booneville, Kentucky. She was born October 9, 1918. She was educated in the Owsley County School District. Callie left Kentucky to come to Hamilton, Ohio, where she met her future husband, James Hyde and they were married on December 3, 1939. She had three sons Frank, Joe, and Jon. Callie was a long time member of the First Baptist Church. She was very generous to her family and friends and tried to help them as much as she could.
She received the nickname "The Pie Lady" after baking pies for the Hyde's Restaurant in Hamilton. She would meet someone and they would ask her name and once she gave them her name. They would reply to her "You baked the pies at Hyde's." The residents of nursing facilities would call her "The Pie Lady". She would smile and begin to tell them her story about how many pies she baked in a day.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, and fishing. Callie enjoyed telling stories about her life and times in the hills of Kentucky. She was an excellent quilter. A skill she learned from her mother. Callie loved to ocean cruise and she had seen many ports of call all over the globe. She liked the Alaska cruise the best and she went there a least three times in her life time. She loved Joe's and Nancy's dog Bonnie and when they came to visit her "they better bring the dog!"
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, son Jon, and nine of her brothers and sisters. She survived by her son James Franklin of Del City, OK., son Joe (Nancy) of Ingleside, Texas; grandsons Jody (Kim) Hyde of Oklahoma City, OK., Roger (Laura) Hyde of Troy Ohio, Jeremiah Hyde of Jacksonville Beach Fl.; granddaughter Elizabeth (Mike) Digman of Fort Worth, Texas; Great Grandson Reid Hyde of Oklahoma City, OK. and numerous nephews and nieces.
She wanted to be remembered as a Good Christian woman with a sense of humor.
A visitation will be held at Ivey Funeral Home on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 3pm-4pm with a funeral service to follow at 4pm. A private burial will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park.
The family wants to thank all who provided care to Mom during these past years. Donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Hamilton, and or The Hospice of Southwest Ohio.
