"I spent time with Lee when he stayed in rehab a few years ago. We would visit in his room and he would tell me stories about his beautiful wife and all the wonderful high school kids who became like family when they worked for him. He loved his nieces and nephews very much and was so thankful that they took care of him. I am glad I got to know him and call him a friend during those months. Praying for all who loved him. Thea B."

"My Mom, Janice Timm also sends her thoughts and prayers to Leland's family. She reminded me that Leland was also her first boss. She also felt as I and my sisters did- that he was a wonderful boss, friend and story teller. You always felt better after spending time with Leland. He will be missed, however we take comfort that he is home with God and Irene. Janice Timm (via daughter Julie (Timm) Willis as she doesn't use the Internet. "

Julie Willis wrote on Jan 16, 2018:

"Leland was my first boss. He knew my Mom, and He hired me on my 16th birthday. He was not only the best first boss a person could have, but the best boss I have ever had. My two younger sisters also had Leland as their first boss. I learned so much from him through his words and especially his example. He became and remained a dear friend for life after I graduated from college and stayed in touch. He and Irene were two of the dearest people I have known. His poetry was an inspiration as well. When he moved to Shorewood, my sister in law also became a friend of his and she so enjoyed his friendship and poems and poetry group together at Shorewood. He gave so much love and was loved by us and many friends. He always had a story or joke as well- either heart warming or humorous. He was a natural born story teller. Thinking of and praying for you, his family, and may the many memories of this Dear man, and God, bring your hearts comfort. Julie (Timm) Willis"
