Dean Krabbe
July 26, 1936 - January 17, 2018

James Dean Krabbe, 81, of Clarion, formerly of Coulter, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion, Iowa.

He was born on July 26, 1936, in Franklin County, Iowa, to James and Leona (Larsen) Krabbe. Dean attended school at Franklin Consolidated. He was united in marriage to Karen Bobst on September 15, 1956. To this union, four children were born. They later divorced. Dean was then united in marriage to Sylvia Helps in August 1978. He worked at the Coulter Elevator and farmed in the Coulter area for almost 60 years. Dean was a lifelong member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Coulter. He enjoyed car races, tractor pulls and motorcycles. Dean's family and farming brought him so much joy.

Dean is survived by his son Larry Krabbe of Clarion, daughter Kim Crafton of Rowan, daughter Pam (John) Davis of South Carolina, grandchildren Matthew Crafton of Ft. Madison, Joshua (Lacy) Krabbe of Alexander, Felisha Davis of Grenada, Tyler (Hanna Pals) Krabbe of Latimer, great-grandchildren Caden, Harlow, Jax, Peyton and Amelia, brother Willard (Barbara) Krabbe of Mason City, sister Joyce (Merle) Wagner of Delano, Minnesota, stepchildren DeEtta (Lynn) Kluver, Denise (Brian) Pralle, Darrel Helps, Dixie Helps and their families, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Leona, wife Sylvia, son Scott Krabbe and grandson Derrick Krabbe.
