Irma "Jeanne" Braymen
October 5, 1931 - January 16, 2018

Jeanne Braymen, age 86, of Clarinda, Iowa, entered into peace Tuesday, January 16,2018 at Westridge Care & Rehab Center, Clarinda, Iowa. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa with Pastor Renwick Adams officiating. Visitation with the family will be held 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa prior to the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Shenandoah, Iowa. Memorials may be given in Jeanne's name. Irma Jeanne Braymen was born October 5, 1931, daughter of Alonzo & Elsie (Einfeldt) Bubb in Lenox, Iowa. She graduated from Lenox high school and attended nursing school at Iowa Methodist Hospital. In nursing school Jeanne became best friends with Grace Braymen who took her to visit the family farm. Jeanne and Grace's brother, Paul, became an item and were married November 1, 1953. Two children were born to this loving union, Barbara and Chris. The family lived on the Braymen family farm for a few years before moving to Hiawatha, Iowa. In 1969 the family moved to Northboro, IA. After the kids were out of high school Jeanne & Paul lived in Bedford for a few years then moved to Clarinda. Jeanne worked as an RN at Shenandoah Community Hospital for 2 years after graduating from nursing school. She worked in the home until the kids were in school when she held various positions where she could use her degree to help others - in troubled teen counseling, elder care and social work at elder care facilities. After retiring she worked at the Clarinda Community Center and was active in the First Christian Church women's group. Jeanne enjoyed the comfort of her family and the community of neighborhood, work and church friends. She enjoyed bible study & other activities, including a missionary trip to Nicaragua and Costa Rica in Central America. A prolific reader, Jeanne traveled the rest of the world via books & magazines. She stayed in touch with friends from nursing school, bible study and work. Jeanne had a green thumb and loved tending her flower gardens and many house plants. She cherished the companionship of her black, curly-haired pup, Feather. Left to cherish Jeanne's memory are her loving daughter Barbara Ann Braymen Zahlen who lives in South Dakota with her husband, Steve, and many relatives and friends. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Braymen and son, Chris; her parents; and all of her siblings - L. Everett Bubb, Leonard Bubb, Donald "Doc" Bubb, Lela Bubb, Esther Bubb Hines, Clara Bubb McKinney, Lola Bubb Marble, Dorothy Bubb, and Harlan Bubb.
