"I was shocked and saddened to hear of Wayne's passing. I hate that I will not be able to attend Tuesday or Wednesday. Wayne was a true friend to me and my family. He was a true gentleman and upstanding, hard working, caring service provider and patriot. I will always remember our friendship and the hug he gave me the last time I saw him in this realm. Lee Solomon wrote on Jan 22, 2018:

"Wayne was not only my roommate at MTSC, (before it was MTSU) He was always the brother I never had from our very first day at Clark Memorial. He encouraged me to pursue a career in music, and even helped me thru some of the hard times that inevitably were part of being.a struggling musician. I'm sure that I'm just one of many my big-hearted best friend helped to get on down the road. As fate would have it, I have to be out of state on business during the visitation and funeral services....if you knew Wayne like I did, you know that just wouldn't matter to him- he wouldn't want me to give that a second thought, and would tell me to "do what you gotta do". I believe that we are all headed for the house--and Wayne will be one of the first folks I'll look for when I make it home...until then, this old world just wont be the same without him. Rest In Peace, my Soul Brother! "
