June Sarver
May 31, 1925 - January 23, 2018

June Sarver, 92, of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018, under hospice care at the MHP Hospital in Oskaloosa. She was born May 31, 1925, in Clio, Iowa, the daughter of H.H. and Grace Thompson Massey. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1942. She was united in marriage to (Ernest) Edward Sarver on May 4, 1941, at Unionville, Missouri. Ed died on January 24, 2001. Following their marriage June stayed home to care for her family and home. June and Ed owned and operated the Oskaloosa Locker from 1969-1984. June worked as the bookkeeper for the business all those years. She and Ed enjoyed traveling. They traveled extensively in the United States as well as Canada, Mexico, and South America. She was an active member of the Gateway Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and crocheting. She was a talented seamstress and took great pride in the clothing she made for her family.

Her family includes her five daughters and their husbands, Carolyn and Donovan Heath of Farmington, New Mexico, Sherry and DeLon Potter of Lolo, Montana, Angela and Larry Doze of Austin, Texas, Linda and Tom Johnson of Oskaloosa, and Jocelyn and Bob Arndt of Coralville; sixteen grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, June was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Craig Sarver; a daughter, Beverly Brathall, a son in law, Leonard Brathall; three brothers, Eldon, Leonard, and Claude Massey; and a sister, Nellie Weherheim.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. Burial will be in the University Park Cemetery in University Park. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation with the family present will be held from 6-8 Friday evening in the Bates Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to Gateway Church of the Nazarene.
