Donnie Edwards
July 27, 1961 - January 24, 2018
Donald "Donnie" Edwards, 56, of Moulton, passed away on January 24, 2018 at his residence. Donnie was born on July 27, 1961 to Phillip and Charolette (Downing) Edwards in Centerville.
After graduating from Moulton High School in 1979, Donnie attended Indian Hills Community College and obtained his Culinary Arts degree. With this he would often cater for friends and family get-togethers as well as for weddings. He also received his CDL license but unfortunately fell ill shortly after.
Donnie married Linda Singley in 1983 and to this union, a son, Phillip Cody Edwards was born in 1984. The pair later divorced.
Donnie enjoyed many activities throughout his life such as: cooking, shooting pool, hunting and fishing, taking trips to Corpus Christi, Texas and spending time with family and his many friends. He was an avid Harley Davidson fan and enjoyed riding his bike and collecting memorabilia. Donnie was also a longtime member of Abate of Iowa.
Donnie is survived by his mother, Charolette; son, Phillip Cody Edwards; granddaughter, Maggie Edwards; grandson, Phillip Edwards, Jr.; sister, Shelley Leo; two nieces: Clanci (Jeff) Lewis and Murphy (Bobby) Hayes and nephews, Jesse Walt and Jaiden Hayes. He is also survived by his great nieces: Hailey and Hanna Huff and Journey Walt; great nephews: Wyatt Cole, Tucker Ballanger and Jayce Hayes as well as his brother, John Jones. He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Edwards and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Per Donnie's wishes, cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life service will be held later this summer. Memorials may be directed to the family and online condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com
