Dakota Levi (Gehring) Winke
Venice, FL - Dakota Levi Winke (Gehring), 26, of Venice, Florida,
formerly of Sandusky/Port Clinton, OH, passed away unexpectedly
Saturday, January 20th, 2018 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital Trauma
Unit surrounded by his immediate family as the result of a motorcycle
accident on Friday, January 19th, 2018 in Venice, FL. Dakota was
born on June 9th, 1991 in Bellevue, Ohio. The son of Michelle
Gehring and Bradley Winke.
Dakota completed the Electrical Trades Program at Vanguard-Sentinal
Career/Technology & was a 2009 graduate from Port Clinton High
School. Dakota was a skilled commercial/residential electrician in the
SW Florida area. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, boating, riding
motorcycles, dirtbikes, fourwheelers and snowmobiles. He could fix
anything.
Dakota was always willing to lend a hand and would give the shirt off
his back to anyone. His selflessness continues through his life saving
decision at the age of 16 to become an organ donor. Dakota Levi was
a gift from God and will be greatly missed!
Those left to cherish his memory include mother, Michelle Gehring of
Venice, Florida, father, Bradley Winke (Kimberley McRitchie) of Port
Clinton, Ohio, Maternal Grandmother, Linda Tuggle Linder, Maternal
Grandfather, John Francis Gehring Jr, Paternal Grandfather, Francis
Winke, extended family members Cortnie (Scott) Glovinsky, Donald
(Shelby St. Clair) McRitchie, Brandon (Tammy Marinis) McRitchie, and
Katelyn McRitchie along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces,
Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
Dakota was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandmother, Marilyn
Winke.
There will be a memorial service in Florida & in Ohio.
