Violet LaVon Osborn, age 94 years old of Carson, Iowa passed away on January 28, 2018 at the Griswold Care Manor located in Griswold, Iowa.

Violet was born on August 20, 1923, the daughter of Raymond Edward and Vallie Belle (Donnely) Schwinderman, at Carson. She resided in the Carson area all her life and was united in marriage to Floyd E. Osborn on April 1, 1945 in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the Epworth Methodist Church. To this marriage three children were born, Kenneth, Karen, and Charles.

Violet was a long-time member of the Carson United Methodist Church and was very active in helping with Sunday School and singing in the church choir. Violet helped with the farming and the raising of livestock on their farm located between Treynor and Carson, Iowa during her entire lifetime.

As the years passed and Violet and Floyd retired from farming, they spent many years traveling the United States with their camper. They enjoyed many long and happy winters in McAllen, Texas, where Violet loved singing at all the jam sessions. Not only did they have life-time friends who also went to McAllen but the climate was also so much warmer than Iowa in the winter for them. All who knew and loved Violet will long remember her for her great love of music.

"I met your mother when she was at Risen Son several years ago while my father-in-law was there. I loved visiting with her and she loved talking about her family whom she loved so much. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with her family. She was a very sweet lady! -Audrey Haverkamp"
