Gladys Marie Read of Perry, widow of Cliff, died on her 87th birthday, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 1:00 p. m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Perry of which she was a long time member. Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Hastings Funeral Home and her family will be present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery next to her husband Cliff. Gladys is survived by her son Keith Read and his wife Sue of Olathe, KS; daughter Teresa Wempe Read Malchesky and husband Victor of Colorado Springs, CO; 2 granddaughters; and nieces and nephews she considered grandchildren. Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church of Perry.
